Ecosystem Services

 

 

¡Hi again! the topic of today in my personal blog will be my favorite subject in this semester. I think that the most interesting thing I studied was Ecosystems Services. In this class, we speak about the benefices provides by ecosystem and what this involves in a superficial way, from a forestry and ecological aspect in the society mainly. Therefore in clase, what we do is exercise the identification of the essential elements to be able to value these services from an economic aspect and apply this in hipotetic cases in consevation and restoration projects.

 

  Until now, the contents we have seen have been the main types of ecosystem services (supply, regulation and culture) and their ecological functions and how these impact on society (locally), the value of the ecosystem services and the difference with economic profitability of biodiversity and how this was applied in real cases of restoration projects.

 

 I like this subjetc because let’s learn how theses projects work and what are the consequences of misidentified ecosystem and functions, on the other case we can learn how the state values these services and what are the principles of that, but the most important thing is that it entertains me because the teacher asks us for our opinión and together we are taught what she teaches us. I think that is very important!
